The Irish Language Program of the Department of Languages and Literatures at Lehman College, CUNY, was awarded a grant from the Fulbright Commission in Ireland to assist with curriculum development funding for Colloquial Irish 2. When the first Colloquial Irish volume was completed, the publisher funded both the book production and the CD production. Now that the Colloquial series no longer markets the sound files, we needed to apply for grant funding for the production of that aspect of the project. While this presented an added responsibility for the authors, we welcome greater control of the sound recording process. The budget of the recording session for Colloquial Irish 1 was sparse with native speakers having to gather around one single microphone. With grant funding and the budget in control of the authors, a more just recording process for the actors was planned. The audio recording of the second volume was completed on 22 & 24 September 2019 and the printed copies of the book were available in December 2019. The volume carries the date 2020.
